Our point of view
Throughout our existence, Vectia has always been a pioneer in identifying current business trends and challenges. Today, we see that businesses are exposed to several fundamental shifts that have a profound effect on how they go about with regard to markets, business models, customers and ways of working. These are also principles that guide our way of working.
From exchange value to use value. Value is created when the customer uses a product or service. Value can be created independently by the customer or through co-creation with the provider.
From competition to value creation. The focus of strategy should not be so much on competing against competitors, but on securing that the firm is valuable to customers. We also see that a certain amount of competition can be beneficial.
From sharing market to shaping markets. Firms can and should shape their own markets.
From choice to design. Firms can design their own markets and business models and not only choose from given markets.
From planning to strategising. From predictive and traditional business planning to effectual strategies, inspired by the successful entrepreneurs of our time.
From customer data to customer understanding. The amount of customer data is almost unlimited. However, only when a firm understands its customer’s goals, resources and processes it can offer services that truly create value for its customers.
From customer offerings to customer experiences. In order to succeed a certain product or service must have meaning for the customer. In effect, companies must focus on creating meaning from its customer encounters and if possible even participate in the experience.
Emancipation from product based market definitions. Firms need to move away from zero-sum product based differentiation to co-creation of value with different kinds of actors (suppliers, customers, and partners).
Strategies are realised through changes in work practices. The only way to successfully implement strategic changes is to re-design the ways people are working.
Theory and practice – reason and emotion. Change happens on all levels.
Development is a learning process. Change does not happen overnight.
